In this episode, we continue our exploration of movies about making movies. This time Jason’s pick brings us back to the highly stylized world of Brian De Palma as we check out Blow Out from 1981. Between geeking out over all the gear porn and audio engineering, we also spend a lot of time highlighting the many cinematic features and real world incidents that fed in as inspiration for the film. But before all that, we set our sights on some recent releases. Jason hits the theater to talk Eli Roth’s Grindhouse trailer finally being realized and then heaps praise for Toho’s newest stab at a Godzilla flick. Meanwhile, Dustin brings a tale of two animated projects and unfortunately has to level some harsh criticism of the new Scott Pilgrim anime. And so much more!
