Genre Exposure is a film podcast dedicated to the exploration and celebration of cinema in all forms. As our simple tagline suggests we entreat listeners to join us as we explore the wide world of cinema broadening our horizons one movie at a time. The show’s inception began as a movie club that had been running for a few years where the goal was to push ourselves to discover new things by each member taking turns curating a film to screen together and discuss. Since we already tended to geek out and deep dive after every watch, we decided to formalize what we do just the slightest and record the effort to share with others. Our goal is to simply celebrate and share our love of film with others and we hope that, in turn, we can foster and encourage that love of cinema in our listeners as well.
The show is proud to be a part of The Prescribed Films Podcast Network. Home to hundreds of hours of free podcast entertainment. The shows on this network all have a common goal, providing you with the best discussions about movies and other forms of entertainment media. Led by our horror movie maniacs, Attack of the Killer Podcast, the PFPN hopes to fill your earholes with audio joy.
We are always happy to hear from listeners and value both your own thoughts on the films we cover as well as constructive feedback on the show itself. We view the podcast as more about the journey than having any specific destination and thus see it as a continually evolving project. Always feel free to reach out and get in touch, we want to hear from you. We also try to pepper in listener suggested episodes regularly, so hit us up with a movie recommendation as well. Besides directly commenting on posts here, the podcast can be reached at our dedicated email email@example.com as well as contacted on your favorite form of social media. Be sure to follow the show on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you enjoy what we’re doing, it will be a huge help to us if you can subscribe and leave us a rating/review on your podcasting platform of choice.
Dustin is a potentially overqualified office worker who has a lifelong love and fascination with Japan and all things Horror. With a bachelor’s in English Literature and a master’s in Library Science, he devotes way too much time to researching and thinking critically about the media he enjoys. When not celebrating trashy horror films, anime, and idol music, he can be found researching UFOs and the paranormal or indulging a passion for storytelling through tabletop roleplaying games. You can follow Dustin on Twitter, Instagram, & Letterboxd.
Michael has way too many hobbies. From watching movies, making and listening to music, collecting toys, and just making a bunch of useless stuff, he is always finding ways to be creative. While he is partial to Horror and Sci-fi films, he really just loves good stories. When he isn’t buried in all of his other hobbies, Michael can usually be found playing tabletop RPGs with Jason and Dustin. You can follow Michael on Instagram.
Jason is a lifelong devotee of all things cinematic, especially horror, science fiction, exploitation, and cult. A close second obsession is heavy metal, punk, and rock music along with collecting vinyl. When not engaged in these worthy endeavors he loves completing the nerd trifecta by playing tabletop roleplaying games. You can follow Jason on Instagram & Letterboxd.
